由来・語源
共（ともに）と鳴（音が響く）の結合。物理的な共振と、精神的な呼応の両方を表現する。
説明
物理学におけるresonance（共振）の訳語として、また思想・感情の交流を指すsympathyの訳語として明治期に普及した。科学的現象としての共鳴と、心がつながり合う現象としての共鳴という二つの意味で定着した。
